X-Mas Present Idea: Pancake Mix Jars + Free Printable Labels

An easy Xmas DIY project

Ho ho ho! A great last minute Xmas present: a jar with a delicious pancake mix! Plus: free printable gift tags in various designs. DIY project brought to you by the German food blog Pancake Stories.

No time or money to make a Christmas present? No worries, we've got you covered! This is an easy way to make a good looking and delicious gift for anyone! We chose our favorite holiday-flavored pancake recipes for this DIY project. You'll just need some 350ml glass jars, a couple of ingredients and a pretty bow. We also made some gift tags in three designs for you. Just download them for free HERE (external link to a pdf file), print them out and decorate the jars with a personal note! Voila - a quick, inexpensive and cool Xmas present!

Spekulatius Pancakes with Marshmallows

Fill the jar in this order:

85g flour

40g finely ground Spekulatius cookies (or similar Christmas ginger cookies)

10g regular sugar

10g brown sugar

2g baking soda

2g baking powder

1 pinch of cinnamon

1 pinch of salt

On top you can put some coarsely chopped Spekulatius and some marshmallows to fill the jar completely. That's better for transportation, otherwise the jar will end up being all mixed, even before you can give it as a present.

See, that went fast, didn't it? And all that needs to be added into the mix to become a pancake batter are 2 eggs, 25ml of oil and 75 ml of buttermilk. Also the marshmallows are for decoration on the pancakes, they don't go directly into the batter.

Hot Chocolate Pancakes with Marshmallows

Order:

50g flour

10g cocoa powder

50g flour

10g brown sugar

10g regular sugar

2g powdered coffee

1 pinch of cinnamon

1 pinch of cardamom

1 pinch of salt

1 pinch of cayenne pepper

2g baking powder

2g baking soda

20g chopped milk chocolate

20g chopped dark chocolate

Fill the rest of the jar with the tiny marshmallows. They taste great with the chocolate and it soaks up the moisture inside the jar!
